The Best Custom Shutters, Blinds & Shades!
Proudly Serving the Washington DC Metro Area

Congrats to Sunburst’s newest #ShareYourShutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters features two rooms in her home decked out with stunning new Polywood faux wood plantation shutters that beautifully complement both her ornate window frames and modern decor.

Neutral Living Area With Shutters

Chelsey, who some may recognize on Instagram as Taste of Coffey, is a Boston-based home designer with a penchant for stylish color schemes. A quick look at her photos shows how she mixes and matches both neutral and brighter tones for a look that’s welcoming and comfortable, but with an undeniable sense of flair.

Chelsey even has some advice for designers in Washington DC and beyond:

  • Always have a color scheme. When you decorate a room, you can always adjust colors to accessorize it. Be sure to use tones from either your interior color scheme or ones that can complement it.

  • Be fluid in your color usage. I picked white shutters and most of my furniture includes shades of gray, either fabric or weathered wood. So I decided to mix in splashes of color and white accents.

Decorated Room With Polywood Plantation Shutters

Not only does Chelsey excel at using colors in her design, but the use of space in her home is great as well. From her chairs that guide the eyes vertically to the wall and her beautiful shutters, to the way her shelving lines up perfectly under the window, Chelsey’s space is fashionable, practical, and very livable without ever looking overdecorated.

As our contest winner this season, Chelsey will receive a gift card to a great restaurant in Boston, in addition to having her designs featured here. To see her entire body of work, take a look at her personal site at TasteofCoffey.com.

And if you think the shutters in your home look beautiful enough to be our next winner, share them on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters. Let’s get another Washington DC house featured as a winner!
